NEW DELHI: Naveen Jindal led company Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has started a new project called ‘Nirantarta’ and established Climate Change and Sustainability Department to develop a strategic view on Climate Change issues influencing current and future operations of its group companies and the development of a carbon strategy, source said INDIACSR.
“Virendra Kothari will head the Climate Change and Sustainability wing of JSPL. PricewaterhouseCoopers -(PwC) will be partner in the exercise, having led similar activities worldwide.”, he said.
“This is just the first step in the large effort to integrate and embed sustainability in all operations of the group companies. Our progress towards newer and better system, processes and technologies is both inevitable and incontrovertible. In this transformation, sustainability will play an increasingly important role. “, a senior official said.
