Bharti Foundation awarded the Social and Corporate Governance Award for CSR

MUMBAI: Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, was awarded the Social and Corporate Governance Award for Best Practices in Corporate Social Responsibility, 2008 on February 06, 2009.

The award was presented by Mr. Arun Arora, Chairman, World HRD Congress and President, Times of India Group at a special ceremony at Taj Land’s End, Mumbai, on February 05, 2009.  Mr. Manu Talwar, CEO, Mobility, Bharti Airtel Ltd. Maharashtra and Goa, received the award on behalf of Bharti Foundation.

The award is being given jointly by Bombay Stock Exchange Limited, Nasscom Foundation and Times Foundation. The Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practice Award recognizes and honours organizations for their contribution to society. Bharti Foundation was declared as one of the nine winners and presented this prestigious award based on its exceptional work in the field of education under the aegis of the Satya Bharti School Program.
