MUMBAI: With an invitee list of select industry leaders and eminent citizens the inaugural lecture was also aimed at drawing the attention of Corporates, Promoters and HNIs to increase their engagement in new forms of philanthropy for the nation’s development.
JSW Foundation, the CSR arm of the Jindal Group, launched the OP Jindal Memorial Lecture Series today, in collaboration with Asia Society India Centre, at a high profile event held in Mumbai.
This initiative is designed to provide a platform for today’s eminent leaders and policy makers to share their vision and ideas for young India. An opening keynote address titled, “Next Generation Philanthropy” was delivered by Pierre Omidyar, Founder of eBay and Co-Founder of Omidyar Network.
The keynote address was followed by a panel discussion between distinctive business stalwarts Dr. JJ Irani, Director, Tata Sons; Mr. Anand Mahindra, VC & MD, Mahindra & Mahindra; and Mr. Ajay Piramal, Chairman, Piramal Enterprises Ltd. They came together with Pierre Omidyar to ideate, debate and chart a map for India’s future. The session was moderated by Madhabi Puri Buch, MD & CEO, ICICI Securities.

The OP Jindal Memorial Lecture Series, offered by JSW Foundation, is dedicated to exploring the nature of philanthropy, current trends in philanthropy today, and strategies to ensure efficient and effective philanthropic practice.

The O.P. Jindal Memorial Lecture series is an annual event that has been introduced by the Jindal Group to be held during the first week of January. It is proposed that every year the event will initiate a particular topic and hold discussions around it.
