Earth Day is being observed every year on April 22nd, designed to promote awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment and its protection. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970, marking the beginning of the modern environmental movement, the day aimed at lifting the status of environmental issues on to the world stage.

On April, 22nd, 1970, the first Earth Day was held.  People all over the world made promises to help the environment. Every one got involved and since then, Earth Day has spread all over the planet.

The Earth Day Network which was founded on the occasion of first Earth Day, promotes environmental concerns and year round progressive action worldwide. Earth Day Network is driving force steering environmental awareness around the world.

Through Earth Day Network, activists try to bring changes local, national, and global policies.

Earth Day international network reaches over 17,000 organizations in 174 countries. More than half a billion people participate in Earth Day Network campaigns every year.
