Seminar on The New Indian Woman on 23 April in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a Seminar on ‘The New Indian Woman’ on Monday, 23 April 2012 at Hotel Intercontinental The Lalit, Mumbai . The Seminar being chaired by eminent actor, Ms Shabana Azmi aims to have thought provoking deliberations on the way Indian perception regarding women has changed and the role of media in shaping this transition.

‘The Indian Woman today is at Crossroads’. At the dawn of this new century, India is on the move to find its rightful place in the comity of nations and awakening in all fields. It is now that the role of the Indian Woman with emphasis on her empowerment and contribution to emerging India is of utmost importance. Apart from the socio – cultural, political and economic forces that have played a huge role in shaping the New Indian Woman, the Indian Media Industry, particularly our films and soaps have influenced the mind and personality template of the Indian Woman.
