JHARSUGUDA: Vedanta observed the 69National Fire Service Day with the theme “Smoking Management saves lives” on 14April 2012 in its Plant premises at Jharsuguda.  Present during the occasion were Mr. Rabindra Kumar Mishra, ADM Jharsuguda, Mr. Abhijit Pati, COO, Mr. Rajeev Nayan, Head HR, Mr. DN Behera and Mr. SN Singh amongst a sheer number employees from VAL and its partner agencies. The function was kicked off with unfurling of the Fire Service flag by the chief guest. After paying homage to the gallant firemen, fire-safety pledge was administrated. A fire-safety manual was also released by the Chief Guest during the event.

Speaking on the Occasion Mr. Mishra said, “Everybody must care for Fire Safety. If fire is not tackled and left to spread beyond control, it causes much peril by devastating lives and properties.” He also stressed upon the fire-safety awareness campaign in the periphery village and schools by the company.

Mr. Abhijit Pati saluting the gallant firemen and their fire service, highlighted on the various fire safety measures practised in the Plant premises during the last few years. The event was anchored by Mr. Santosh Srivastav, Head Fire services, VAL.

Fire demonstration and their methods of extinguishment by the fire fighters left the audience mesmerized during both the event.
