VAL Conducts Training Programme on Child Health Awareness

LANJIGARH: With an objective to sensitize about child health and importance of first aid, one training programme on General Child Health Awareness was organized by Vedanta Aluminium Limited, Lanjigarh and Vedanta Foundation on 14 April, 2012 for the Child Care Workers and the Coordinators of the company. The programme was conducted with support of health team – Dr. Sabita Swain and   Dr. Chinki Gupta as key resource persons.

The training session started in the morning with address to house by Mr. Avilash Dwivedi, Head-CSR. He said that Vedanta Foundation and Vedanta Aluminium Limited are working together for common cause. VAL-Lanjigarh is committed to bring improvement in Child Health status through its Child care and Anganwadi intervention.

The session was attended by 30 Child Care Workers, 3 Child Care Coordinators. The training session on dental health care, various dental diseases, prevention and cure, importance of bi- annual preventive health check- up was emphasized upon and explicitly stated by Dr. Chinki through a presentation. Dr. Sabita trained the workers on various aspects of health and hygiene. She also stated about various commonly found diseases in the children studying in child care centres like skin, eyes, mouth, hair etc.

Also present on the occasion were Mr. Balakrushna Rath – State Head-Vedanta Foundation, Ms. Sweta Upadhayay, Ms. G. Anuradha, Mr. Srikanta Bohidar of VAL and Mr. Prashant and Mr. Kulmani of Vedanta Foundation.
