NEW DELHI: MyKartavya, an initiative of NASSCOM Foundation, invites companies to be part of a day long event focusing on environment, sustainability and climate change organized by NASSCOM Foundation and Earthwatch institute on the 27 April 2012. To encourage sustainability thinking among business professionals, the event proposes a day long hands on volunteering and learning opportunity for NASSCOM member companies. The overarching goal of the program is to engage people’s heart and hands, as well as their minds, by connecting them personally to science and nature, exploring their beliefs and values about the environment and providing support and ideas for action beyond the program.

Program Aims to give business professionals a broad-based understanding of environmental sustainability, to enable hands on experience through field visit to a biodiversity conservation site and participation in and ongoing research project, to To connect environmental sustainability issues to everyday business activities and to create a network of like-minded individuals who will drive the change within their organizations.
This collaborative program will serve as a platform for engaging employees in an ‘inspiring learning journey’, the learning experience includes hands-on scientific research and exposure to new perspectives on environment and climate change.
This helps in transforming the sustainability policies of the companies into meaningful and measurable actions and incorporating sustainability strategy into day-to-day operations.
This functions as a combination of volunteering and sustainability. It transforms people by enabling them to step out of their normal surroundings onto an experiential learning opportunity on a research project thereby impacting participants’ hearts and minds – inspiring passion and commitment and turning ideas into plans for action when they return to work or home.
