Balco Receives Good Green Governance Awards 2011

KORBA (Chhattisgarh): Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd ( Balco) has bagged Good Green Governance Awards 2011 in two categories. Smelter 2-is the winner in the Metallurgical Sector. 270 MW CPP is runners up in Infrastructure category. The award is instituted by Srishti Group of Publications for excellence in Environment Management.  Mr. B.K. Bhatia, Head,  Mines Development, Balco received the award on the behalf of the Balco.

These awards were given away by Governor of Orissa – Mr Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare in a glittering Function held on the occasion of Earth Day at Garden of Five Senses at New Delhi. More than 75 companies participated in the contest and some of the prominent organizations were Tata Steel , Tata Motors , SAIL , Jindal Stainless Steel , NTPC , Reliance Power , IOC , Ambuja Cements , BPCL , Sesa Goa , Mahindra & Mahindra , ITC , WIPRO  , J K Tyres , and BILT.
