AURANGABAD: In an attempt to effectively carry out the works being done through Corporate Social Responsibility, the district collector and Zilla Parishad CEO have designed a website-cum-portal to coordinate between different agencies and corporate houses.
The officials have published a list of works to be carried out on priority basis on the website that would be launched soon. According to officials, earlier many corporate houses would vie for specific works and projects due to which many important tasks had no takers but through this website the administration will not only be able to take stock of the situation but also have a proper record of the exact amount spent by a given a corporate house in the CSR activities carried out by them.
Moreover, the authorities in an attempt to bypass the tendering process which are full of glitches having scope of misappropriation of funds received, have decided that no money would be taken from the corporate houses, NGOs and individuals who want to take up CSR activities, instead they would asked to do it in kind.
District collector Virendra Singh said, “The idea to have a website-cum-portal that would act as a platform for the parties keen on taking up CSR activities is really good. The credit for the same goes to ZP CEO. It will bring utmost transparency and effectiveness in CSR activities.”
An official privy to the development said through this website, many departments struggling to cope with the situation would find takers and it will definitely leash a new life to these departments.
ZP CEO Abhijit Choudhari told Media “The world is going digital and it is also helping in to bring transparency and effectiveness and so we decided to make CSR online and the idea of csraurangabad.com was born a couple of months back. We have tried and brought multiple departments and their schemes together at this website and any corporate house, NGO or even an individual can go through the website and take up the responsibility for the things he or she may want to do”
Choudhari, a medico by qualification, said “We are planning to have a dedicated team to keep a track of work being carried out in the district under CSR. They will regularly update the exact amount of tasks completed by organisation or individual who have taken responsibility.
There is a second plan to have a dedicated helpline, which would coordinate between the interested parties and the departments concerned”
In addition to this, the authorities are also mooting to display the names and email addresses of the officials concerned, so that the organisations and interested individuals may directly get in touch with the officials concerned.
At the onset, options for taking up projects or works under nine programmes of water conservation, health, women and child, education, DRDA (District Rural Development Agency), sanitation, animals and veterinary care, gram-panchayat and social welfare.
In order to make the website user friendly, it has provided an online proposal form for donation, which any of the interested parties may fill up, following which the data filled in the form would be sent to the department concerned along with the contact number and the officials from the department would get in touch with the applicants.
Choudhari said “Through this website, interested corporate houses or NGOs may adopt villages, anganwadis and schools. They may also opt for taking up the responsibility of distributing toys and books to the school students and may also conduct skill development training for women”
Technical department sources said the website is under construction for the past couple of months and the entire development is being personally monitored by the district collector and ZP CEO. The district collectorate has taken up the responsibility for the back-end mechanism of the website.
