George R. Gardiner Professor of Business Ethics and Co-Director of the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business,
Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto Over the past decade Professor Andrew Crane has been at the forefront of efforts to integrate social, ethical, and environmental issues into
global management research and education.
He is the co-author/editor of eight books, including an award-winning textbook on Business Ethics and the Oxford
Handbook of Corporate Social Responsibility. He was the founding Director of the UK’s first MBA in CSR, and has taught business ethics to everyone from undergraduates to executives. He also led the
development of a unique training course on responsible business for developing world managers on behalf of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and collaborated with the British Council
India on instigating a CSR curriculum development project for Indian business schools.
He is a frequent commentator in the media, including in The Times (UK),
CBC (Canada) Globe and Mail (Canada), Børsen (Denmark), ABS-CBN News (Philippines) and Ethical Corporation (UK). The Crane and Matten blog which he co-writes with Professor Dirk Matten is widely
regarded as a leading voice in the CSR debate and was selected as the official blog of the 2010 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit. His current research interests include corporate political
responsibilities, cross-sector partnerships, responsible tourism, industrial espionage, and business responsibilities to children.
Manoj K Arora
Former Director, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI Manoj K Arora is a civil servant and has recently completed his assignment with the Ministry
of Corporate affairs as Director. During this assignment, he has been handling the work related to the establishment of the Competition Commission of India, including the legislative,
administrative and HR frameworks, Corporate Governance, Regulatory functions under the Companies Act, 1956, International Cooperation, Implementation of MCA 21, a mission mode e-Governance project
under the National E-Governance Plan (NEGP), Investor Protection and Formulation of the Policy framework on Corporate Social Responsibility. He was also the key official responsible for the
establishment of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, developed as a unique body to provide think tank, service delivery, capacity building and policy advisory support to the Ministry,
corporate sector and related stakeholders.
