HALDIA: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, has been committed to generating energy from clean sources. Its 120 MW Haldia Power plant is based on coke oven gases and has been honored by Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), Mumbai with a Certificate of approval for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
The ISO and OHSAS Certificates are for generation of power from waste heat recovery system and supply to grid, subject to continued satisfactory maintenance of the occupational health and safety management system of the organization. Tata Power’s Haldia plant was certified after a two day audit undertaken successfully for all three systems.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, Station Manager, Haldia Power Plant, said “We are committed to quality management to provide value to our customers. The policy was signed on 15th May and the journey started on 1st June. In less than three months, we could successfully complete certification audit without any NCs. This was possible only because of continuous support from top management and extraordinary team work exhibited by one and all at Haldia.”
