MUMBAI: Tilaknagar Industries Ltd., manufacturers of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), has been conferred with the prestigious Mother Teresa Excellence award 2012 by the Integrated Council for Socio – Economic Progress in appreciation of the company’s excellent performance and outstanding achievements in CSR.
Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. received this prestigious accolade for their noble contribution to the society and the industry, particularly in achieving Millennium Development Goals. Mother Teresa awards are presented to those who have excelled in the fields of education, science, culture, music, sports, social work, medicine, industry and politics, both at home and overseas.
Talking about the achievement Mr. Amit Dahanukar, Chairman and Managing Director, Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. said, “We are delighted to receive this award. It has been our constant endeavor to improve the quality of life of the weaker sections of the society. We are committed to enhancing the livelihood of the residents of the localities adopted by us. The award is in recognition of these efforts.”
Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. embraced the Millennium Development Goals and launched multiple community initiatives 3 years ago. The company has adopted 51 localities in the surrounding areas of its Srirampur unit and has been implementing various CSR measures to enhance the quality of life of over 25,000 families. In the project, special importance has been given to the critical issues like education, poverty alleviation, child healthcare, electricity and drinking water. Other notable activities of the company include rain water harvesting, organic farming practices, usage of gobar gas as energy and promotion of vermicompost. In continuation with these efforts, TI also distributed over 110 solar street lamps in its adopted localities.
