LANJIGARH: Vedanta Aluminium Ltd through its associate partner Nirmala Kruti Vikash Trust (NKBT) and in association with Government Health Department, Kalahandi has launched a special drive in creating health awareness and improving the health status in the region by way of organizing health camps at its core and buffer villages.
During the period of National Malaria Month June 2013 , Vedanta Aluminum Ltd as a responsible corporate arranged a Mega health Camp on 18.06.2013 at Harekrushnpur village. More than 500 people from nearby villages of Lanjigarh Block area attended the camp and were given medicines free of cost during the day-long programme.
Inaugurating the Health Camp Dr. Mukesh Kumar, President & COO, Vedanta Aluminum Ltd. said that this was a part of VAL’s Community Relation Initiatives. Our objective is to create Heath awareness and reach Medical health to the local tribal community living in the entire region. We have been working in collaboration with the district administration to serve the people of this region.
Vedanta Aluminum Ltd with its health team has contributed towards creating awareness among the people regarding health conciseness, prevention of disease from waterborne, vector borne , awareness towards family planning, cleanliness, Hygiene practice etc in the community. Vedanta Hospital has been also serving the community by giving free medicine, institutional delivery, cleft left surgery, detection of sickle cell and free ambulance service at the doorstep.
Medical Specialists like Dr. S K Mallick, Child Specialist attend the camp. Apart from him Dr. Chinky Gupta – Dental Surgeon, Dr. Satyanarayan Behera (O & G), Dr. Sobhan Padhi, Dr. M M Purohit – Medicine, Dr. S K Mishra – Surgery and Dr. Supriti Patra (Physiotherapist) of Vedanta Hospital, Lanjigarh were also present in the health camp today. Among others present were Mr. Koustav Ratan Kundu, Head-HR (VAL), Mr. Nabal Sharma-Head Legal (VAL), Dr. Sabita swain Chief Medical officer (VAL), Mr. D Ravindranath Head (Projects) .Similarly Srikant Bohidar, Alok Gaya,Bulu Joshi,Bulu Hota,Srimukh Agasty were there to make people awareness for preventing Malaria and other CSR Projects running . Also local leaders of the area like Shri Harekrushna Joshi, Shri Janak Sahoo gave thanks to VAL for such type of noble work.
