MUMBAI: Vedanta through its Foundation has partnered with Abhayanand’s SUPER 30 to launch a state of the art Vedanta SUPER 30 Campus in Vithalwadi, Mumbai, Maharashtra for helping students pursue their dreams of taking the engineering entrance examination to the IITs. The programme will provide free coaching facilities to students from across the state as well as free boarding and lodging.
In line with the other SUPER 30 centres, to become a part of this campus, underprivileged students from across Maharashtra will have to take part in a competitive examination and the top 30 students will be invited to join the course.
Speaking about the launch Mr. Abhayanand, DGP Bihar Police & Founder of the SUPER 30 concept said, “The idea behind SUPER 30 was to help the talented underprivileged students to keep them in a group for about a year and guide them how to crack the toughest entrance test JEE/I IT. The highest level of talent also does not flower on its own and needs support thus this
initiative is a boon for those who can’t afford private coaching and at the same time needs personal attention of the tutors. It makes me happy that Vedanta is expanding the concept of Super 30 in Maharashtra and other parts of the country. It will certainly help the less blessed students of these areas to get in IIT and other premier engineering institutions of India and thus radically transform their life.”
Mr. Ravi Krishnan, CEO Vedanta Foundation said, “We at Vedanta recognize the immense potential that students from bottom of pyramid in India possess. Through this initiative we intend to help the talented students especially from the weaker sections of the society, aspiring to make a career in engineering make it to India’s apex engineering institutes.”
The first batch of Vedanta SUPER 30 students has already been selected through a process of interviews & examination. 375 meritorious students (Science students with minimum 70 % in HSC) applied for the batch out of which 30 students were selected.
